Mindfulnest Retreats

It is common to hear the phrase, You have to live in the present,” but what does this mean, and more importantly, how do you do it?

Mindfulness is the ability to pay attention to the present moment experiences with curiosity, openness, kindness, and without judgment. It is progressive training that integrates the body, mind, and heart to develop a clear and more luminous level of awareness that allows us to see reality as it is, opening space to live life with greater presence and connection.

In a changing world with many internal and external challenges, mindfulness offers the possibility of feeling greater balance and tranquility to respond consciously and intentionally to these daily challenges rather than reacting automatically.

A retreat is an opportunity to practice intensively and deepen the experience of mindfulness. It is a time to cultivate concentration, focus, kindness, and compassion by disconnecting from our usual tasks and entering into deep contact with our body, mind, and heart.

Time for Practice

Meditation can be a powerful antidote to everyday stress and anxiety. When you meditate in a group, you also foster motivation, connection, and a sense of belonging through shared experience.

If you want to experience the benefits of extended, deep practice but prefer to do so with guidance and in community, we are happy to introduce Time for Practice, a monthly silent mini-retreat offered free of charge by Mindfulnest.

Mindfulnest Retreats

Time for Practice

Once a month:

  • First Saturday, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EST

After Open Mindfulness

We will alternate between sitting and walking meditation sessions for three hours, with short instructions at the beginning of each session, to encourage silence and individual practice, even in community. In the end, we will have a brief question-and-answer session.

You can arrive at any time, and you don't have to stay for the entire three hours (although it is recommended).

Everyone is welcome, beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

No experience necessary.

Mindfulnest Retreats

at home

Traditionally, mindfulness meditation retreats have been held in person, in spaces close to nature that offer the silence conducive to contemplation. But with existing technology, and in the wake of the pandemic, online retreats have become more common because they offer the convenience of being at home, with the structure provided by an in-person retreat.

If you create the conditions for complete immersion in the practice and choose to abandon everyday distractions, time-consuming tasks, and addictive digital habits, an online retreat can be just as powerful as an in-person retreat. In addition, a retreat at home can be very interesting, as it is in our homes where we tend to experience our most ingrained habits, patterns, and behaviors.

By taking a conscious break from your daily obligations and reclaiming some of your attention from the digital world, you can create a space for healing and self-care.

At first, it may feel a little strange to let go of your routines, but as the retreat progresses, you will discover the rewards and satisfaction of creating a space conducive to well-being that will allow you to live with greater awareness and connection.
